alright, i’d like to be a super spontaneous and incredibly crazy person…. which i am not. really. i love making plans and knowing what to do next. on friday i was like: “oh yeah today i’m gonna be so incredibly hardcore, i am going to see a band i’ve never listened to before! wow!” (yeah i am totally nuts! -> insert sarcasm here <-). crazy me went and saw WHOMADEWHO
at flex. they were performing for WAVES VIENNA
, which sadly ended on sunday. one thing i know now: being spontaneous really pays off. whomadewho are amazing performers, musicians and entertainers! they really give every cell of their bodies while performing and you can tell: they love what they’re doing.
unfortunately not everything that night was as awesome as whomadewho’s performance. there are some really bitter and unhappy people working at flex. not only was the door staff drunk but also the most unprofessional i’ve seen in a long time. flex is one of europe’s best clubs, but their staff acts like they’re freakin gods. the guy at the door wouldn’t let me get back in to get my coat after the gig and another girl screamed at everyone for standing in the entrance area. there’s nothing wrong with giving people information on what the deal is, but acting that emotional and unfriendly is just sad.
so yesterday was seriously on of the most amazing days ever. i got a ticket for the fm4 frequency festival for free on short notice and immediately drove off to st. poelten. after finding a parking spot i found out i still had to take a shuttle to the festival area. after getting there i stood in line for over 45 minutes in the guest list line… at least i got a great tan in the burning heat. the last bummer was that they wouldn’t let me take my SLR inside, which i think is the most stupid rule. why can people take their cameras inside, only SLR ones are not allowed? BUT smart me had a plan B and hid my manual SLR in my bag, which they didn’t find. so next week, when the rolls will be developed you will get to see some photos 🙂
so after seeing TWO DOOR CINEMA CLUB (awesome!), CLUESO (really cool!) and THE NATIONAL (breath taking!) i bumped into vicky sweetie from ellevictoire and sabina/david from broken cookies. so we actually ended up in a cool blogger-festival-gang. we saw INTERPOL (crazy!), KAISER CHIEFS (incredible!) and THE KOOKS (absolutely no words!). unfortunately i had to go back to vienna and had to do the 1 hour drive back at 1 in the morning. thanks red bull, for saving me!
here’s some cell phone videos, my manual photos will follow soon!
Since I am a little computer geek, who spends a loooot of time in front of the screen, there’s so many things on the internet I am obsessed with and that I’d like to share with you. When I am at home there’s always music playing and I am on the constant look out for new artists. One thing I have fallen in love with over the past years are music blogs. I have a couple of favorites but my steady number one has always been DAYTROTTER. I love it so much, they should hire me to promote them. I love not only the music, the design, the illustrations but also the fact that they put so much thought in how to make everything work. The usability is so user friendly and it’s so easy to download free music. They always host musicians for studio sessions, which you can download absolutely free (4 tracks per session!).
